Denise,
Hope ya'll enjoy it. because that recipe makes a lot of salad. glass of wine and you are set for supper. If you really wanted to, you could put in some Italian cold meat of some kind. I would think hard salami, or if you could get it there - Italian bacon, fried up of course. I might even try some thinly sliced bits of ham if you can't find the bacon. Here we call it chipped ham, from the deli in the grocery. I don't think chicken or turkey would do it. You might try several different meats in different bowls to see which you prefer.
As did my mother, I am always looking to improve a recipe. I guess I learned that from her.

Hi Ilene, My daughter is adding it to her menu the next time she has her pals round she likes to offer them various dishes to mix and match, I think the idea is to soak up the wine all evening? She never seems to cook anything twice? She is learning to cook 'modern food' mums cooking is ok but not in her London flat!!! Mind you she does make wonderful soups in the winter they are a meal in themselves.
