Astrantia 'Buckland'

Astrantia 'Buckland' (Astrantia 'Buckland')

Cut these right down to ground level as they are flowering when I bought them on 2 July 2011.

They are great plants Karen....slugs don't seem to go near them!

It's a strange thing, Scottish...but I've only found half a dozen snails this year...and no slugs! Long may it continue!

Lucky you Karen....constant battle in my garden!

I used to sink little cartons/ jars full of beer near the plants they liked...it did work! :)

Karen, I am buying no more been - garbage men will be thinking I'm an alky if I buy any more!!
Ive been trying everything as I would like to stop using slug pellets, eventualy!
The beer certainly worked best as an alternative. At one point I even raided my son's stash of bottled lager. Don't think he has noticed 2 cases of Corona Lager missing yet :) The lager worked the same as the beer, hence I kept using it. Then there was the escapade with the police in the middle of the night thinking I was a burgular.
The slugs and snails give me the heebie geebies, Spiders, Wasps, bees and anything else don't bother me in the slightest.

Lol! Scottish! So Corona is 'probably the best lager in the world'...if you're a snail...:))

I daren't ask about your night time shenanigans lol!... but commend the police on their quick response! lol! ;))
