Thank you Sheilar. Dave has carved several things from old wood. I think I have already posted his carving of a mohican out of our old plum tree.

Thank you Terratoonie. He also paints and does sculptures. I can't do any of those things, so I look after the flowers in the tubs while he is busy in his shed. (I call it his studio lol)

Hi Casso...
... you do very well with the flowers ..
I bet Dave can make wonderful carvings of dog silhouettes :o)

He hasn't done any carvings of dogs Terratoonie. Carvings take months to complete and it is difficult to find suitable wood. That's why the mohican had to look like a brave with war paint as the plum tree wood should have been seasoned for two years before carving and it split.

I hadn't thought about getting the correct wood.
Must be difficult to find wood which has been seasoned for 2 years ...

He has carved mahogany and teak.
