Thanks all , I'm glad you like it , it's new to me and is apparently related to the Penstemon , It's a plant that grows approx. 2ft tall ~ each flower is 1 inch long almost in the shape of a snap dragon , it likes well drained,water-retentive soil _ thrives in sun or partial shade .. clumps can be divided in autumn or spring ... :o)

Very reliable Bloomer, Ive had it in the garden since 2004, pressy from best friend in memory of my mum. Its spread quite a lot too. One is in shade at the foot of my lilac and the other is in the front in sunshine from early morning til about 2pm.
Best picture I have seen of it..even I havent seen it from this angle..fantastic Amy!
