One last Royal Poinciana. This tree I believe was growing in Palm Desert, CA. Photo taken Aug. 20, 2011. Like all the other Royal Poinciana photos, this one is past its peak blooming period.

Some of that blue sky is badly needed here!

The sky is blue nearly every day of the year in the low desert.

Delonix - that response is definitely not guaranteed to make me feel any better! I know I should be grateful that we have enough water, but sometimes it's easy to forget.

We're very lucky in inland San Diego, CA....as the weather is pretty much sunny the majority of the year here (the coast is cloudier, however, it gets a lot of sun, too).
You're very lucky to have lots of water. Water is a precious commodity here in San Diego County and most of California. We have such a long dry season and experience long droughts. The last drought which ended this last rainy season was 7 years long. I'm so glad it's over...for now.
