I think this one might be Vuurvogel which means Firebird in English. If that is correct then the name suits it well.

Inverglen, I cant believe you said that!!...Please look at the yellow and red Dahlia on page 3 of my pics...I always called it 'firebird' but couldn't get any info about it, then i thought i must have got the name mixed up......I have Looked through Dahlia pics for a few years and 'Vuurvogel' was always the one most like it...now you tell me it means 'firebird' in English?...There is a better pic of it on page 6...Thank you sooo much, thats that problem sorted!!!....still dont know what the above is called lol...:>)

OK. Glad I solved one problem ( unintentionally ). I have looked at your Firebird Vuurvogel and it really is fiery.
So here goes with another stab in the dark. How about Alfred Grille.
