Thanks Karen - I was never really that fond of them until I saw pictures on GoY.
I've always been 'afraid' of shrubs and their pruning. Am learning now so a bit more confidence in putting them in the ground!

Now, that's why I'm afraid of roses! For some reason, I've never worried about shrubs and just got in about the ceanothus with shears!!! I'll probably get a telling off, now! lol!!

The shears tip is good enough for me Karen...I too am like that with roses. Bought a climber and a rambler this year. Thought that I could go less wrong with those than a bushy type one!!

I really don't know! lol! My pruning thoughts are, usually...'Well! I can't be having this!...CHOP!', but there's something holds me back with the roses...and so mine are all climbers, too!!
