Dahlia Garden Festival

30 flowers!!!! that must be a record!! what is the secret??

At the moment it has 8 large blooms like the one in the picture and over 20 buds in different stages of development.
I was reading a page on the Dahlia Society website on advice on how to grow dahlias and the first sentence said " If what you are doing works then just keep doing the same. Don't change it " And I am doing nothing special. I think its the weather, the combination of heavy rain and warmth. I have four of them and all are doing really well but this one has just gone ballistic.

I recall this happening to a clematis of Indypendents it was the pond from next door leaking perhaps its got good soil in that bit or a good breed one

whatever it is the dahlia certainly likes it!!
