Ah, they're lovely, J...so much nicer than their bigger cousins... (Are pansies their bigger cousins? I've always thought of them that way) :))

No, J...have never managed to keep pansies long enough for them to be attacked!
Mine have always looked really good, when planted, then go all leggy and yellow...and then I give up, replant with something else, and say 'Never again!!'

Of course, this happened many, many times!! lol!

I am always seduced by the colours of pansies in the spring, J...but have always been so miserably unsuccessful that I've given them a wide berth, recently...don't laugh, but I've never thought of feeding them!!!

Now that I know that...(sort of seems obvious really! lol!)...I might allow myself to be seduced again!!! :)))

I just love perennial violas Meadowland...mine have only had one chop this year, but they could do with being chopped again now...I'm not sure whether to risk doing it this late or just let them fade now...what do you think (bear in mind that september here is like October in Gloucestershire).

Thanks, I think I will go for it...worst case scenario...no more flowers this year, but a nice neat clump of fresh leaves...what's to lose except the fading blooms....

My pnasies are still flowering!!!! They are away at the back at the fence..still I see their wee smiley faces :) :)

They are the nicest violas I have ever seen.Thanks for the tip as mine always seem to go leggy.
