Just Finished Grouting On First Mosaic!

oooh what a great job youv'e done Nana-d. Have you just started making your own Mosaic's? the grout should dry lighter..

Hi YYD yes this is my first attempt lots of ideas going through my head at the mo it looks small in the photo but it is a largish stepping stone so I going to prop it up against a wall or fence in the garden. Thanks glad you like it wasn't too sure but if the grout dries a lot lighter I will be happier:) Will take another pic when it's been cleaned properly and in situ.

Thanks Lulu but I am disappointed this morning with the colour of the grout although it still has to dry more, think I should of mixed the sandstone with white cos it is not showing the gold wings and body of the dragon fly enough. Is there anything I could put on the grout in that area to lighten it up??

The grout usually dries within 24hours. If you are still not happy with the colour.........you can always paint the grout with a lighter acryllic paint!! Labour intensive but saves being annoyed by a wrong colour grout!! Just make sure to wipe any paint off the tiles.

Hi Lulu and TOG, it has dried lighter but the colour of the grout is not showing the wings out very well because there is not enough contrast in the colour so I have ordered some grout whitener and going to whiten the grout just in the wing area and hopefully that will make the wings stand out better:) Will take a pic after that has been done.

Grout whitener........never heard of that!!

It's used for freshening up your grouting in the bathroom Unibond do it but Wickes B&Q etc have the same thing just going to give it a go fingers crossed the wings will look more distinct:)

If that doesn't work...........just paint the grout in the wings.........that'll do the trick!
