What is the weather in Arizona now? It must be top summer when your poppies are in blooms.

thank you. these poppies were in full bloom in march, i think. actually, our spring starts in about jan/feb and we do spring planting in sep/oct. now in sep, it's just beginning to cool down; daytime is still usually 90's but nights are dropping to 70's and high 60's now. we are done with the usual spring and summer flowers by late may; by then, it is already way up in the 90's and sometimes more, so things begin to burn up quickly...summer temps here are day after day of 100 degrees plus and very dry.

Is it sun clock on that trunk?

I wonder, what is the principle when somebody looks for the proper position of sundial. Of course, on the sun, but this might differ when you put it horizontally, like here, or on the wall, am I right or wrong?

this is probably cheating, but i just placed it where the sundial showed the shadow at the right place for the time after checking the inside clock....

Oh yes, I would follow the same logic. But I was curious if you do not know some ancient trick. Lol.
