They do flower again in Aug/Sept - this funny pinky one must be the runt? They are lovely and I am determined to get one next year Crissue.

Hi Denise, I think you're right, runt is the word...poor thing...
I love this Clem, and several GOYers have it as you probably know, so you won't be disappointed....:))))

Lol...As a thought, I got an Email from Taylors Clematis a couple of weeks ago, and Chris said that Clematis roots grow all through Winter, so we can plant them late into the year, good to know that...I thought they rested...

Alot of people think its better to plant them in spring. I planted 3 in autumn last year and they have all done well. I picked up some bargains at the weekend for only £3 each reduced from £12 - so had no choice ...lol one is called liberation (I think its a new one) and the other arabella, which I know is a good flowerer. Hope yours continue to do well Crissue

Thanks Poppy....What a good bargain you got there...can't go wrong with those...I'm going to google and look at the blooms for yours, as I don't know them, but then there are so many Clems, it's hard to keep up...:)))
I've just moved one of mine, it was too far away from the Arch, where I wanted it, and looked a bit straggly, so I cut it back and replanted...now it should be fine...
Planting in Autumn does gives the root stock chance to establish itself, and when spring arrives, there's strength there already to produce new growth...nice one...
