Pumpkin (Big!)

This pumpkin was grown from seed taken from a supermarket purchase last year. I have no idea what variety it is. It's about 25" long. Hope it makes good eating- it'll make soup to last a month!

It is a butternut squash not a pumpkin hope this helps.

Thanks, Crissue and Sixpence - I didn't think it could possibly be a butternut squash - they don't come that big in Sainsbury's!

Perhaps it s a new variety of pumkin then but from the shape it looks just like a butternut squash.

They never do Gattina in the Supermarkets, they cut them too early...don't forget a lot of produce travels for days before they get to the shelves...The only way you get this size, is to grow it yourself...:))) enjoy...
