Delicious Dowdeswelle Delphinium

Yet another amazingly beautiful delphinium created & raised at the Dowdeswelle Delphinium nursery in New Zealand.

I don't think this amazing delphinium is for sale yet, as they are still stablizing it .... but just look at those dots of green colour & the overall shading on those blooms. The people at this private nursery are just doing such wonderful work with stunning results ... & I cannot wait to get my hands on this one when it is ready!!!

Thankyou Simbad. I'm glad you enjoyed looking through them. Libet ... I just knew which delphinium you were referring to before I clicked into the photo! It's my favourite too. There is a pale pink one quite similar also, called Lotus, which I think is totally gorgeous too.

They are lovely. Ive always liked the ones with the black centres, the blue bee types, but these are spectacular! I like the pink one too, but wonder at the toughness and longevity of it. I had a pink one called Caroline, which was lovely when I bought it, but deteriorated and became weak quite quickly compared to the blue ones. I rate them by the strength of the stems, they must be straight and strong for me, used loads of them for wedding pedestal arrangements! Nothing else compares!
