Xeronema Callistemom

Also known as Poor Knights Lily, this New Zealand native plant was originally found growing wild on Poor Knights Island, which is one of several tiny islands just off NZ, pushed up by volcanic activity. It has unusual red bottlebrush clusters held horizontally out from the strap-leaved plant & is a good one for containers, though can also be grown in a border if protected from frosts.

This plant can take up to 15 years to flower, but is well worth the patience.
