Periwinkle have blue flower this one had no flowers...
And the leafs from this are green with a white border
But,may be you are right perhaps it is not a hosta ?

Vinca is Periwinkle and the varigated ones do have green leaves with white edges. Perhaps it is a Euonymus such as E 'fortunei' ?
