Newly-developed garden

This is a little corner in my newly-dugout side area (non-driveway side of house). All these plants have been popped in over the past week, apart from the agapanthus, which was already there. The azalea is visibly growing. I put the native NZ clematis paniculata in just two days ago, but seems to be doing ok.

Thanks Crissue. Some of the plants can't be seen from the angle I took the photo. There are penstemons, a campanula groundcover, aquilegia, liriope muscari purple & a lovely heuchera called Amethyst Myst. I also have the hosta 'Fire & Ice' to go in there as well, when I am well enough to get out into the garden again in a few days. The border extends either side of that corner, so will take another photo as everything begins to grow a bit more.

After a day of drizzling rain yesterday, the heaven's opened & we had hours of torrential relentless rain. I lay in bed wondering how my clematis was going to look in the morning. So this morning, the first thing I did was popped my head out the guest bedroom window to have a look. I was expecting to see a very bedraggled & limp clematis, but there is was looking happily back up at me. Obviously, these NZ natives are a hardy breed! I do love the more showy clematis, but I think they will probably be a bit more temperatmental than this one, so I will wait a bit before trying to put one of them in. This native one is very pretty, & there are two more native ones I have discovered ... both white, but with different stamens, which I will put in somewhere also.
