Is that a house in the mountains, Katarina? . . .

Hello Shirley. No, that is a cottage restaurant on one of the most famous mountain lakes in the High Tatras. It is made from wood and in typical style.

Thanks Katarina, it looks beautiful . . . .

Lovely photo Katarina! Many years ago (because my OH was working in Warsaw) we visited the Tatras when covered in snow . . . beautiful. Do you live far away?

Hello Sheila, thank you. We might have met, as once in mountain train I travelled with English couple, who went for wedding to Zakopane from Warsaw. There worked a man from that couple.. It was long time ago, in nineties.
I am glad you like the photo. Unfortunately the Tatra mountains have changed after hurricane absolutely atypical in this mountains several years ago. It destroyed almost 1/3 of forests. The wood is still recovering.
I live far away from here - almost 400 kilometres. But I do like this place, as I have a lot of nice memories and people are much different from those living in towns. You are welcome if you wish to come again.

OH worked in Poland all of 1994. We went to Zakopane, but not to a wedding! Sorry to hear about the hurricane, but the forest will recover in time.

Such a beautiful spot. Have never been to Poland, but some years ago I had good friends, Yolante & Pietri who came from Poland & I always promised I would visit them there one day. But that was when I was living in England & now I have returned to my own country of New Zealand, so we are now on opposite sides of the world to one another. We hope to do a trip to UK & Europe about three years from now, so hope we can go to Poland then & catch up with these dear friends & their lovely children.

Hello Dwyllis,
thank you for sharing memories. This is not in Poland, but in Slovakia. Anyway, the High Tatras are shared by both Polish and Slovaks, as part of the mountains lays in Poland. You are welcome.
