Did this on slate it is about 27 x 12 and quite light which is good and the surface is flat so make the mosaic easier and as learnt from my mosaic number 2 tried not to differ too much with the height of the tiles. Lulu advised me to use PVA exterior weatherproof glue and THANK YOU Lulu it was so much easier.
