Could anyone identify this small shrub,please.? Have had it for 8years.It's slow growing and only just 24 inches high with a prickly feel to it.

Does look like a juniper doensn't it. Bluespruce would know for sure.

I've got a dwarf juniper which looks like yours except mine's a silvery greeny colour

we have a creeping juniper and that also is very prickly, i wonder if this is from the same family.
