I spotted this gorgeous shrub in the garden of one of my neighbours & as she was working in the garden, I asked if I could photograph it to put on this site. She did not know the name of it, but said it had been fully-grown like this when she moved in 5 years before. It looks like a Livingstone daisy type of flower with that succulent type leaf, but I have never seen them grow into a large bush.

Best of all, as I was admiring it, the lady asked if I would like one, & promptly dug out a plant of it about 14" high from her garden. So I now have it planted in my side fenceline border, & hopefully it will grow well. Not too sure about that bright purple colour next to my newly-planted red peony, but nowhere else to put it at this point. Might look nice.

That's great - hope it really thrives - sure it'll go well - I don't mind any colours in garden together

Sometimes colours that you think would clash go well together, if you know what I mean. In the wild, no-one arranges the colours, they just grow!

it looks very much like a groundcover plant we use here a lot...called "iceplant"...loves sun, not a lot of water, succulent type leaves with vivid flowers. i've grown the purple like the photo; also comes in red and yellow varieties with more upright habit.

We grow ice plant here too, & its official name is Livingstone Daisy & it comes it a wonderful array of vibrant tones which seem to have a sparkle in bright sunlight. I have never seen it in this shrub form though, which really piqued my interest. It will be interesting to see if it grows as well in my own garden, from the plant the lady kindly gave to me.
