Hi Tommy...
The dog on my avatar pic pushing the wheelbarrow is my dear departed elderly Welsh Terrier, "Bonsai" who died 3 years ago.
You can see more photos of him on my earlier GoY pictures ..
Welsh Terriers do look rather like small Airedale Terriers. :o)

Hi Terratoonie, except my apologies regarding mix up of breeds. Was Bonsai a bit of a warrior. I did note that Bonsai was a good garden help. I use to help to garden in my local pub. Every morning I use to turn up for work and all of the plants that I had planted the previous morning had been pulled up. I blamed either the pair of magpies or the two blackbird that were nesting in a nearby shrub.
I thought they were having an easy picking of worms that had come up to the new root balls.
I was wrong on both accounts. I was patiently replanting the plants for the third time and I looked behind to see the pubs boisterous young boxer kindly removing the plants one by one. I think that he thought he was a bird. I playfully threw my gardening gloves at him and head held high he snatch the gloves and trotted to the other end of the pub garden like he thought he was one of those posh horses bred for trotting. Calmly dug a hole and buried my gloves. Sadly he is no longer with us as he was so loving and intelligent.

Hi Tommy...
No worries about getting the breeds confused. Most people think Welsh Terriers are little Airedales..
That Boxer sounds like it was a lovely mischievous dog...
"Bonsai" was a very well-behaved Welsh Terrier... He learnt all kinds of tricks... pushing toys on wheels, and towing, and fetching... He was not at all snappy or noisy... and was very cuddly as he got older ... three years on, I still miss him a lot ...

Both George and his mother Roxy were so loving. I have been gone the pub for about 4 years now and both the boxers have gone but I still remember them. When I first went to the pub I was very dubious on having the keys to let myself in early morning. Their owners use to let me in and I offered to give the dogs their morning feed and let them out for their walk. After a few days both George, Roxy and I had a mutual respect of each other.
Had a sharp reminder one day, the landlord and I were kicking a ball about for the 2 dogs and jokingly he waved his arms at me like today's footballers. What a shock, his Roxy stood between him and I protecting me then George had a bark at him. I never knew that boxers could be so protective. My landlord friend and I never joked about again.
