Wow - purples and reds, my absolute favourite.

Thanks Frybo and Poppylover! The purples and reds ... and oranges do seem to work together well.

Plenty of our native bees, the Blue-Banded Bees, and loads of other honeybees and little wasps.

I never really saw many bees when we lived in the city suburbs. It's only since we moved out here closer to the bushland that I've been able to see loads of the native bees as well as the honeybees. Of course out here they're are far more Eucalypt trees and Maleleucas.

What an awesome colour combination. I'm more a pastel person in the garden myself, with some bolder, hotter tones dotted about, but I love this & wouldn't mind it at all, as none of the tones are brash. A lovely lush planting! I'm very envious.

I rather like the bolder colours, Dwyllis, although I most certainly have quite a few pastels as well.

The bolder colours do look great in our warmer climates Bernie, I will admit to that. My OH would have the garden totally full of reds, oranges & his favourite colour yellow. I love these colours too, but in smaller doses lol. A pastel garden needs these hotter colours to give it that pizzazz which is so essential to a garden. Having said that, I am sure we all love the Sissinghurst garden. I love to pop a hot red in amongst blues, & yellow always looks good with the purple tones.
