So pretty at first I thought it was a Bonsia.

Nice to see lovely specimen growing outdoors. I only see it growing in pots under glass.

That's beautiful! I love the shape! How old is this plant?
I should put mine into the ground...maybe it'll grow big like this one.

I had bought this plant in mid 90's (don't know the exact year) at a garden show in New Delhi. It was very small in a plastic pot. I had nearly lost it when it developed rot in the stem. Managed to save it by removing the rotten portion and the plant still has a big concave scar on the back (not visible in the picture)

Thanks for the information! I see they grow slowly there, also. I purchased my largest one back in summer of 2004. It blooms well and I've never had any problems with rot. However, I just lost my white/pastel pink one to rot a month ago. This is the first time I've ever lost one to rot. I purchased this plant 3 years ago for $5.00 on a special rack for drought tolerant plants for xeriscaping in the landscape, during our 7 year drought.
Here's the plant I just lost:

The white one is pretty, pity you lost it.

The white one is pretty common here. I just hope I can buy the same variety I lost! Many people have the white one which stays white and doesn't fade to pastel pink.
