Crete is a wonderful destination for people who like colourful flowers - this is one example.

If it was not for the lush big leaves behind the flowers, I would say this is frangipani. So sorry, I don't know.

It is indeed Frangipani Dwyllis, latin name - Plumeria.

The first time I ever met up with Frangipani was when we spent several years living in West Africa, & our garden was full of it. I couldn't believe what an amazing fragrance it had, & we had several different varieties to enjoy .... ditto for the wonderful bourganvillea, which grew wild everwhere. We can grow frangipani in NZ, but it must be frost-tender, so would do better higher up the North Island than where we are.

Thank you for all your answers and ... what can I say ... I'm 'packing up' and moving to the North Island ... :) - I can't image a garden full of these wonderful flowers so, if you see one, please take a pic and post it on this site - we will 'forgive' you for 'omitting' the fragrance :)

I don't know what the flower is, but it's lovely. I expect someone on here will know what it is though.
