This particular one went right through the 'summer', Sheila - I pulled the last ones out to make space for a new pack! I hope some of them seeded themselves. :-)

They will have self-seeded, they always do! I like these better than pansies as they're 'tidier' if you know what I mean.

Yes, and they tolerate the cold better. :-)

This summer as part of a cleanup near the front steps of the cabin I scratched away the thatch and leveled out the steps...and what do you think popped up? These little beauties! Viola! or is that Voila! love them.

Me too. I've also grown some from seed sown in the autumn, and they're almost big enough to plant out. :-))

These little ones near the step are in a very exposed spot...I'm hoping that they managed to shed some seed before the cold took them. Lucky you to be able to put things out at this time of year...the ground is frozen solid here but the snow coat has melted away with warmer temps. Those temps were followed by VERY cold temps and I'm worried for my other perennials which need the snow blanket...only spring will tell. fingers crossed.

Absolutely! There hasn't been a frost here at all yet. We've got quite mild weather!
