This beautiful Tuna tail palm is growing in the Botanical Building in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. I have a nice small one under my shade structure. Photo taken Nov. 14, 2011.

It's a very easy palm to grow. It likes a lot of water in shade.

It's a pretty common palm here. It must be grown in shade, though. I'm sure this palm grows very well your climate.

I have two of these palms andy, one doing well the other isnt. I think i still have way to much clay, You have the soil i need LOL I have the clay you need to add so you dont have to water as much.
