moon shot

I think that's a lovely one, I tried to get the clouds but couldn't.

thanx sticki, i have never used all them things you stated to get the moon pic, i just normally switch camera on and shoot lol, all to technical for me haha, but will remeber this for night shots now.

I think the cloud works for you too - it diffuses the glare without obscuring the detail.

Did you use the monitor or viewfinder to frame the shot?

If shooting freehand (ie; no support) the viewfinder every time - you'll get far more shake if you hold it at arms length to use the monitor.

Ok, thank you, have tried to use any available support otherwise I get a wobbly oval or even streaky lines instead of the moon.

i couldnt get one before HB, what camera have you got? are you able to alter any settings?

yes, i did my first one with iso 100 ~ on the top dial
also changed f setting that you can find in the function menu when in manual mode ~ i used f8 . would like to know what settings your OH used to take the tree pictures, i loved those

oh thank you HB, i dont understand it all but this week i have learned where to find those settings so i am half way there.

did he use a tripod? or a zoom?

i just tried not to shake with the cold, took quite alot to get one lol, i really dont take advantage of my camera and what it can do, just point and shoot :o)) but this one thing has helped thanx, must root out the booklet :o))
