Grandpa´s masterpiece

Grandpa´s masterpiece

We chatted on Greek mythology last days. This is ceramic "Leda with the swan", a masterpiece of my good grandfather (he was the master of a well-known potters´craft in Modra). It was his gift to my grandmother. And we all know, it is she :)

I miss them both. Very, very much. It was the old world, to which they belong. They gave me a lot of love. My grandfather´s brother was founder of protestant churches in this region (secret donator during socialism).

What a beautiful piece Katarina..and if that is indeed your Grandmother how beautiful she was. It reminds me a little of the Carter,Stabler and Adams pottery...Now Poole Pottery. Modra is wine country ?

Actually I do not know how my grandmother looked naked when she was young, but I have in frame three photos of her and one is when she was around 20. She was very nice. Also I remember, when she was around seventy and had severe rheumatism, she almost had no wrinkles and her skin was clear like ebony. The only cream she ever used was Oil of Olaz and Glydoree.
