Took this from my mom......it was ready to die.
Looks like I have two plants there.

When the keiki has enough aerial roots you can separate them - personally I like Phals with the keikis attached. BTW - lose the cache pot!

Yes Kasy....over watered it plus...................she planted it in soil!!! I pulled it out and it was hanging on with one tiny root!!!

I was planing on separating them and giving one back to my mom. (not anytime soon).
It's ok in it's cache pot now.....you should have seen the state of it when I bought it home!!!

Wait for plenty of the aerial roots then. Leave some of them exposed and mist them twice a day until it settles in.

OK, will send you a pm when it's time to separate them.

Now it does...poor little guy....
If I remember correctly....it had yellow flowers....I've been after a yellow orchid ;o)))))

I bet it's beautiful when it blooms.
I have a pure yellow Cattleya orchid. It should be blooming in March or April. I can't wait! :>)

I have a yellow Cattleya orchid also....but not pure yellow.
Mine is Orchid Cattleya Blc Jairak Beauty.

Sounds beautiful! I love Cattleya orchids...it's too bad they don't bloom over a longer season.
I don't know the name of my pure yellow Cattleya orchid. I purchased it for 3 or 4 dollars at Quail Botanical Gardens (now called: San Diego Botanical Gardens). I though that was a great deal!

Mine is petty small I think....I wonder when it will bloom.
That is a great deal! I wonder if there is a Botanical Garden in Athens??? Surely there must be. I need to find out....(we need to go before my oldest son turns 18 this July, he need to get his American citizen paper)

I see there's one in Athens. It's call The National Gardens or Vassilikos Kipos.
I purchased a white Cattleys at the time for 3 dollars. It was another terrific deal...to good to pass up.
Here's the photos of my white one:

Ah that one....I went there years ago....if I remember correctly it was an outdoor garden of sorts. (not what I think of as a Botanical Garden) I will visit again this year.....I might have forgotten.
I remember now....your White Cattleya is beautiful. Have you posted pics of your pure yellow one?

Maybe the gardens have changed from years past, possibly?
No, I don't have pics of my pure yellow Cattleya. I could kick myself for not taking any photos when it was blooming last year. I hope it blooms well this year. I need to feed and fertilize my orchids. None have been blooming this winter, so far. :>(
Typically Fall - Spring are the big blooming season for most orchids. Although, there's several which bloom in summer, also. The Epidendrum orchids are spectacular everywhere, now. I see them in many gardens. I need to trade some people for the gold, pink, white and red ones.
