It's been feeling a lot like summer the last month, with temps as high as 94ºF/35ºC. So, I decided to post a pic of the flowers of the Royal Poinciana from last summer. Photo taken Aug. 7, 2011.

Hope it warms up for you soon...and you get some rain!
It's very mild tonight with a few little showers, this is the first (very light) showers of the new year and since the beginning of December. We need some real good rains...as we're may be heading into another drought. The whole state of California has been extremely dry so far this winter.

That seems very cold for your hot subtropical climate! I hope it clears and warms up for you soon!

We do have a short spell of winters and being inland and dry we have extreme temperatures .

I do know subtropical climates can get cold temps sometimes. Generally, it tends to be a short winter, though. We're having some cooler weather now. It feels cold because it's been so warm to hot during the last month.

We've been having some real cold weather this week!!! Minus 2C last night!!! A half hour drive North and they had -8C two nights ago....frozen pipes and all.
There has been frost in my garden two days now and my dogs water.....ice!!!
The poor plants look terrible....I hope they all make it through this winter!
Lucky for us....weather is changing on Saturday (finger crossed).

That's HORRIBLE! -2ºC is really cold! It seems you may need to protect some of your plants.
Last night was really chilly here too, we had a low of 43ºF/6ºC. this morning...and the high is only going to be 65ºF/18ºC., a far cry from the really warm to hot weather we've been having for a month. Also, a large storm is heading our way this weekend with much needed rains, though...then next week it warms back up to 70ºF/21ºC which is close to our normal high temp for this time of year.

It was BAD again last night but it's already warming up.....16C for Saturday...clouds starting to gather now....hurray.
The plants have had it, they look sad....but still alive. Glad I've added mulch to most of them....a few might not make it. ;o( Going to the garden today to see what I can do.
I DON'T LIKE THE COLD!

Sissies!!!

Well Mister Tough Guy....you'll be happy to know that Polygala can take a nice hard frost and come out looking refreshed....

We're not sissies!!!! We're just: cold weather wimps! That's what most of the people call us, anyway...it's all relative.
My family in Hawaii are freezing when the temp goes below 70ºF/21ºC in winter...they complaint to high heaven! I'm talking early morning low because the daytime temps are almost always above 82ºF/28ºC. (which is the average high at the coolest time of the year in January).

Beautiful flowers, lucky you....would love 35C now.
We've been having north winds for the past week or so....that's why it's been so cold. Hoping for Southern winds and rain soon.
