it is wonderful for the birds.
we keep it cool so many plants & cut flowers last for ages.

I agree..Mine is my greenhouse for overwintering plants, cuttings and seed sowing..luckily,we still have room to sit in there as well .:o))

not allowed to have seeds/seedlings in there :(

so plants in pots the best option. too soon to do so in the unheated greenhouse.

I remember you saying that,Sbg...shame..but you know they would take over ..or at least, your OH does ! Lol.

We came to a compromise, for every bike part I could have a plant. total number of plants 15 :o)
he loves vintage pushbikes and their brass accessories.

I call that a pretty good deal,Sbg..you just have to make sure you encourage him to buy more ! Lol...

noooooooo

It has taken me nearly 20 yrs to reduce the motorbike collection. He has more clutter oops sorry memorabilia for classic cars, bikes, sailing vessels [humber keel as an example] as well as photography that we have moved twice!

love him to bits though :o)

Ah,I see your dilemma ! Humber keel ??? oh,dear..hope he doesn't take a fancy to one of the ferries..Lol.You certainly must love him ,to have moved twice for his hobbies...you can always buy a few teeny plants, and hide them in between some other shrubs, till they grow ..he wouldn't notice them growing..or would he ? .:o)

plants for the garden are not a problem, but I have a knack of keeping houseplants going for years and when they are not in flower he tends to moan about the 'boring look of the leaves'.

He is the skipper of the HK Comrade at the moment. It is one of the heritage crafts on the Humber. it sails in the summer only. So weekends in the garden with out any distractions. oh forgot the 14yr ld and her needs :o)

I don't have a lot of space for Houseplants,Sbg.so no problem with boring ,as your OH calls them.:o).That sounds a nice thing to do in the summer...is it used by tourists.? ..It's quite a while since we were up that way..

yes you can book/charter it for a day. its a good day but the humber is a very variable beast and some times you can get down to grimsby and other times only as far as Paull.

Asked OH to put wide windowsills on [so i could have ornaments [read plants] and he did in most rooms but drew the line in the bedrooms haha.

I know what you mean about the Humber..as most big rivers, very unpredictable..well,at least your OH compromised,Sbg..that's always good :o)..
