There's a flock of them Amy, I think they must be roosting in the hedgerow behind my garden.

You are probably right Annella , I have a lot of those fallen crab / Malus apples but have never seen a bird eat them , they lay like a carpet rotting away , perhaps I am feeding the birds to well with bird seed :o(

The Blackbirds only seem to eat them from the tree, not as tidy as the Fieldfare!

They are lovely birds, but frustrating as you only get to see the red flash when they move!

They will move on to richer pastures Annie, but at least you saw them. My Yellowhammers haven't been back either.
