Thank you guys:)
Prynhawn da Hywel:) I think I like your good morning better though - easier to remember. I see 'Araf' (slow) on the roads constantly - so that could be my next Welsh sentence I've learnt, lol

What does it mean Araf?

26 Feb, 2012

Araf is Welsh word for Slow. Here in Wales road signs are bilingual Katarina.

Thank you Sheilar:)

Interesting. Is Welsh language very different from English. I think it is old Celtic dialect.
I was just wandering what Araf means, as Arif in Arabic language means "smart".

Yes Katarina - it is different from English. You can here it ocassionally here in South-East Wales but more West you move the more popular it is. Welsh goverment is doing a lot to bring it back to life.
But if you want to learn more talk to Hywel. He is an expert. Maybe one day I'll start to learn it - but there is still a lot of to learn for me in terms of English so don't want to be distracted;-)

We learned as children Kasy

Red Sky at night - Shepherds delight

Red Sky in the morning - Shepherds warning

a lot to do with how the shepherds read the sky for the weather patterns while tending their sheep/goats, many used to sleep out with the animals - by way of protection against preditors. - man and beast.

Gorgeous shot...

In my countrly poeple living in the mountains are very good predicting the weather. But I always remember the saying - the red sunset - windy next day.
Glad you like my picture:) Thanks

Yes, and if the Slavkovsky stit is "smoking", no high altitute tracks are recommended in the Tatra mountains.
