Yes, on some varieties. All the varieties which usually spike early are not...and all the late bloomers have spikes. Go figure! :>)

I noticed today, my large plumeria tree in the ground has a lot of flower spikes emerging.

Then "maybe" mine will be an early bloomer????
Let's hope for next year.

This plumeria posted above has not bloomed in 3 years. It's 7ft/2.2m tall and desperately needs to be planted in the ground.

Why is it sticky at the tip before it putting out spike???? Or am I misunderstanding something here? I have never grow Plumeria before, but since I love the beauty of it flowers, & also looking at Plumeria trees brought me back a lot of memories of my homeland, that is why I'm a little courious.

Vietnam is my homeland where I was born & grew up with a lot & lots of Plumeria tree grew almost every where.

I bet it must be gorgeous! I'm from Honolulu, HI -- where there's many large old plumerias growing everywhere, also.

Hihihihi no wonder you're such a pro in growing Plumeria, I gotta learn more from you before I become addicted & a crazy plumeria grower lol lol lol lol.

It should be easy to grow plumerias in San Jose. You get lots of heat during summer. They just need to be protected in winter (especially from lots of rain, which I know San Jose doesn't too much of).

I hope it could be as easy as you said, because I'll be soon going to HD to bring 1 home for myself on my coming up birthday (July 21) yahhhhhh.

Yes, my Plumerias in the Bay Area would break dormancy in April. They would typically bloom from mid to late June through Nov. and very rarely into Dec. (only when the weather was very mild).
