Many years ago...Tabebuia chrysotricha used to be the tree most widely grown and available. Now, T. impetiginosa is by far the most widely planted and available at nurseries. It's very widely planted as a street tree.

They make a good potted tree...and even bloom young. However, there's nothing more spectacular than a very large tree in bloom.
The one I really want to buy is Tabebuia heterophylla...it's one of the summer bloomers and isn't too common here. I may collect seeds from a tree which is located close to this tree posted above.
