All the ice plant has been blooming since January...these were closing up because it was late afternoon. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA on Mar. 7, 2012.

The purple, magenta and orange are the most commonly grown colors. They are tough and bloom early.

Yes, this was a nice idea for this area of Balboa Park. We've had half our normal rainfall this season and these plants are very drought tolerant.

Now that looks really nice. I like the organge and the yellow together. I have a purple one that self seeded this winter, I saw one baby plant so far.
