It's a custard, it's a sauce....no it's a Body Cream

It's a custard, it's a sauce....no it's a Body Cream

I just had to share this, my homemade Ylang Ylang body cream. So much fun to make and so easy....all natural ingredients.

Thanks Sticki. Really easy to make...bees wax, olive oil, filtered water and essential oil to your taste or not. If you want I can send you the link.
There are other recepies I will be trying next.

Do you grow the Ylang Ylang tree there?

It grows here in San Diego...I had one once. Unfortunately, it died! :>(

I wish I had a Ylang Ylang tree!!! I sowed seeds last year but nothing. I will probably try.

Why don't you buy another??? Are they expensive there?

The scent.....ahhhhh.

Oh, I ordered a Vanilla Orhcid....on it's way from Thailand.

The Ylang Ylang tree is very expensive!!! It can cost about $100.00 for a 5 gallon tree.

My former neighbor has several in his yard. They don't grow very fast here, like in tropics...also, they don't like our hard water so much. They also, don't like the very dry Santa Ana Wind season, when the humidity is very low.

Some people in Los Angeles and in San Barbara have really nice Ylang Ylang trees.

Good luck with your vanilla orchid! It grows here and can grow very large! :>)

I'll post an old pic of my Ylang Ylang tree today.

Wow, that is expensive. Worth is though....the scent of the flower is so heady! One of my favorite essential oils.

Yes, it sure is expensive. There's a few other Cananga species which grow in San Diego...they're not very common either.

Yes, the flowers are out of this world, fragrant! :>)

I was reading up on growing Ylang Ylang from seed. I think I will give it another try.

19 Mar, 2012

I think I've read it's pretty easy from cuttings...I may get a cutting from my former neighbor. I may see If I can get seeds, also.

20 Mar, 2012

I'm going to go ask in one of the big (expensive) nurseries if they sell Ylang Ylang trees. Lucky you to be able to take cutting....(hard to get plants....seeds do the trick).

Good luck! :>)
