I think this is Orientalis . This ones for Karen Susan who I'm sure will know the name. She's started me off and I'm hoping this is the first of many!

Hi Rose! I'm not totally sure... but were the flowers quite greenish even when young? It looks like Argutifolius..the Corsican Hellebore, which flowers early and has those very serrated edges to the leaves, which are greyish in colour.
