I've always admired these, but have never grown one. I've added this picture to my favourites - Are they very fussy?

They are a bit petal. They need good drainage, warm sunshine...but usually they do fine if they get that. :)

Oh dear, thats not good is it. Perhaps they taste nice !!!

So early, ours are in the wrong place, too wet and too cold, keep forgetting to move them.....

I still have some to come out yet.

Ours will be another week at least....

~Someone has a huge clump of these in a garden I go past nearly every day when I walk the dog. They have large yellow centres that look like ping pong balls and look so attractive with the sun shining through, showing off all the hairy bits! I have just got a small red one so will heed your advice of where to plant it. Yours look so beautiful too Cinders.

Well they sort of look after themselves Poppy if you have them somewhere where they are happy, good drainage, and as Karen says warm sunshine. They are a little bit different aren't they with their fluffyness.
