Magolia 'Susan' March 2012

So pretty. I am planning to plant a magnolia in my back garden, but so many lovely ones to choose from & I cannot make up my mind. I love the way the flowers are blooming on bare wood. It makes the flowers really stand out & so different from other flowering trees.

Look up the sizes they can grow to. Jim Gardner - magnolia expert - has written a book on Magnolias (Timber Press). If you have a large garden, it doesn't matter what you choose, but if a modest garden then best to check out ultimate size. Have fun choosing.
