All the wild Bear's Breeches' are flowering now in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. They typically go semi-dormant in summer. Photo taken April 4, 2012

I always thought this plant was grown from tubers. They are almost impossible get rid of...with so many tubers!

Isn't it a widely grown plant there in the UK? I know it's a very hardy plant!

They are pretty common, and certainly hardy.

They probably grow the opposite of here, though. They grow well and and bloom from fall - spring...then in summer they go semi-dormant.

Bloom summer to autumn, then in winter say "stuff this" and disappear until it warms up!!!

As I figured they go dormant in winter, there...they go semi-dormant to dormant here in summer.
