Thanks Terratoonie, bought this one last year, so first time to flower for me :^)

You seem to have some good plants which are okay for shade ..
what others do you have besides this and pulmonaria ?

Ooh Terra, now your asking, these are by our water feature which is facing north/west which i think is fairly sheltered, I have here a bamboo, polystichium fern, Darmera Peltata at the back, an Epimedium, some black grasses and japanese maple, our soil is pretty moist and slightly acid, i do have a photo of this area on one of my blogs last year, the Garden 2nd July. In another shady area of the garden which i consider the most cool and shady east facing, i have a japanese anemone, geraniums, drumstick primula, astrantia, and shrubs Lonicera Nitida Baggesons Gold and Cornus alba eligantissima, all seem to do ok. Thanks for asking. :^))

Of that list, Baggesen's Gold and black grass have caught my eye .. interesting to know those do okay in the shade.

One more question please ... does Baggesen's Gold keep a bright colour to the leaves, despite the shade ?

As the back garden is north facing it gets the shade in the winter but our garden is quite open and not under any trees atall, at the moment ours wants a good trim a bit like privet hedge, and the older leaves look quite golden but i think the under-leaves are a greener colour, but i am not 100%, sorry, but it does get early morning sun, hope this helpful I have had it about 10years and it does grow quite unruly if left:^) Again there is a pic of this in my blog July 2011 (3rd pic i think)
