I usually see these the most in Spring and Summer, I think they spend winter in the northeastern US where it is typically a little warmer. They're pretty birds and it's nice seeing them around again.

Nope it is actually quite small but I zoomed in close for this picture. They have a pretty blue color all along their backs and are nice songbirds too.

This is one of the more attractive birds I see around. I see most of the prettier ones in Spring, especially Ringneck pheasants and quails. I get a lot of Orioles, hummingbirds and gold finches but most of them are not around a lot in winter.

We have gold finches in this country but I have never seen one in my garden. The most unusual bird I have visiting is the Jay, but I have occasionally seen red wings in the winter.

The only red wings here that I know of is the hockey team in Detroit. Blue jays are very common here, they're obnoxiously loud and wake me up every morning haha.

:-)
We don't have the same sort of hockey either!
Oh and blue jays are different to ours too!

I think Pimpernel will know what is it. I like it. Lovely colours. Looks you attracted his attention :)

It looks very pretty, and quite a large bird?
