Hope they survive. I need time to think about where I can plant them.Shall I pot them up and keep them on the patio or shall I put them into my border?

Lovely. I have a little list of shrubs & small trees to put in when our autumn & winter is behind us in September, & a red acer is near the top of it, with a magnolia closely behind.

will need somewhere a little shady, dappled light maybe and away from the wind, maybe just to the side of the japanese temple

Hi maggiekins i read a while ago to keep them in a pot for a couple of years to grow them on abit then you could perhaps put them in the garden if you want to, ive grown mine in pots and theyve done well, i put one in the garden a couple of years ago and thats doin ok, i had it 10 years before i put it in the garden, i noticed you say you live not far from a castle in your profile, i live near a castle too, and a zoo, is that the same place?!! :^)
