Milky ... I keep hearing that one has to have a 'male' & a 'female' tree within a certain distance from one another ... I guess that would be due to cross-pollination to get fruit onto the tree? Have you heard anything about that? I imagine if the tree gets flowers on it, it will also get fruit? When I was a child, everyone has fruit trees in their back yards ... peaches, nectarines, feijoas, apples, grapevines, apricots, plums, oranges, lemons etc. Nowadays, so many back gardens don't have a single fruit tree planted ... my own included. I guess younger folk prefer to pop along to the supermarket to get their fruit, but there is nothing so wonderful as walking out into the garden & plucking a piece of fruit off a tree. I fully intend before the end of this year, to have put in a nectarine tree & a passionfruit vine ... would love to have a Golden Queen peach as well, but I don't think there will be enough room in our designated 'fruit-growing' area.
