Carissa macrocarpa - Natal Plum

Carissa macrocarpa - Natal Plum (Carissa macrocarpa - Natal Plum)

This is a very commonly planted shrub or hedge here in California. It blooms all year and produces edible plum-like fruit. The flowers are fragrant, smelling somewhat like plumeria, which it's related to. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on May 3, 2012.

Alexandramou:

Thanks! Most people just don't notice them. They are so widely plant as a median shrub, also.
