I think they look better this way. (using Gee's Dangerous chocolate cake recipe)

They taste as good as they look too Gee. Thank you so much for posting this recipe. The cake is very light textured. It would be easy enough to fill them with cream or a cake filling if they were split in two. A scattering of icing sugar would be lovely but we liked them plain. You could even dip them in melted chocolate and probably retain the shape. Because they are so quick to mix and cook and there is hardly any washing up you can be inventive with the finished article. I bought these pans in Aldi I think and they were not expensive. I have several different ones.

Yes its Gees recipe. I did not have a coffee mug big enough so gave this a go and as you say they are beautiful. This is just one batch of the recipe. Gee did not say what size egg to use and I only had large ones so maybe that is why the mix was too much for the mug. I also have rose moulded pans and heart shaped ones so when I do them I will post photos, if they last long enough. Great thing about these pans is there is no greasing etc to be done. I bought them in Aldi I think and they get them in on a regular basis. I have seen similar ones in different shapes in B&M. I think they are the same quality as those bought in more expensive outlets and they are half the price.

If you look at the previous photo you can see the pan holds 6 cakes. I cooked them on high for 2mins and 45seconds. I divided Gees recipe between the pans as equally as I could. Because this was one batch I only cooked the 6 cakes.

Its certainly a revolution when it comes to baking cakes. You get all sorts of sandwich cake shapes and also loaf tins etc. Its finding recipes to go with the microwave.

I'm on the lookout for pans like this too, as I only have plain silicone ones. We don't have an Aldi or a B&M here so I will have to look online :)

They really do look scrummy, Scotsgran, and so attractive. I never thought to use my flexible pans in this way but mine are just plain ones :(
