Pl do these need sun? I havent bought any cos i thought they did but now i find at least 3 that seem to have self-seeded in the garden ~ at least i think thats what they are?

MMMmmmm yum, the ligularia usually has a dark red underside on the leaves, that would look lovely P. Im trying to plant in ribbons of orange and purple. Ill let you know if it works.

ST, yes usually you would plant geums in the sun. If you have self seeded ones I would tend to leave them where they are. Plants are usually good at choosing where they want to grow in my experience.

Especially when they grow in the middle of the steps! That are already rocky!!

Also planted one up with Lobelia 'Queen Victoria' Looks good with the leaves not sure how it will look when in flower though.
