If it comes back to you, Paul...I'd love to know...
...have become a little bit obsessed by all the names I don't know, lately...! lol!! :)

They are all subulata (I think) Karen....just found these myself this year. Cheap for the edges - I also have one tumbling over the top of a pot. By all accounts they spread/creep well :)

I bet that looks great, Scottish :)
I've always been a bit scared of little plants...I can't give them the 'chop'!!! :/

yes - amazing grace subulata

I think you give them a haircut after flowering Karen. I have always found with these small plants Karen that they just get straggily and get on my nevers, then end up in the bin!!

Amazing Grace, Paul? That's a lovely name! :)))
Hope it lasts, though...
...because I'm a bit like you, Scottish...if they can't get the 'chop', they get 'the terminal chop'!!

Be brave and give it the chop after flowering is over and you will be delighted with the result.

You mean with scissors, though, Sg?? ;)

I do. I take the hedge shears to most things that need the chop. I started chopping the heads off the heathers yesterday and the bees were not pleased. They were still visiting flowers which i thought were past their sell by date. Guess who retreated.

LOL!!
I've been stung by two bees in the last two weeks...
First time it was by one of these huge, big, black carpenter bees...I was working under 'its wisteria' - and it got me on the neck! But, it was nothing, really...
...then I was attacked by a very angry little honey bee, who seriously objected to me trying to tie up my new wisteria!! It dive bombed me for about five minutes then it got me on my finger...and it's still swollen, after over a week!!!
Never seen anything like it!!!!

Maybe its all our fault, feeding the plants stuff which is making the bees hyper.

I don't know, Sg...
I've never been afraid of bees before...but that little one was really aggressive, and I'm a lot more wary now.

It is certainly prudent to let them alone.

that's a nice one too...

Oh, nasty Karen. Hope it gets better soon. Have you any anti-histamine?
22 May, 2012
Thank you, SL :)
I think some of the sting is still in there, Karen...
I kept meaning to get some anti-histamine - but, I kept forgetting...I need some anti-amnesia too! lol! ;)
